Bia Adams

I am a neuropsychologist and therapist.I combine knowledge and experience from psychology and medical neuroscience, but also from less conventional domains in order to understand and help minds, bodies, machines and technology.I use all my knowledge and expertise to ensure I achieve the desire results for my clients and patients.

My Approach

As a neuropsychologist, my approach integrates various techniques from psychology, CBT, and medical neuroscience.I am passionate about understanding the human mind, how neural processes underpin behaviour, and providing effective solutions to my patients and clients.I strive to create a comfortable and supportive environment, a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions, and to develop the necessary skills to lead fulfilling lives.

Neuropsychology

I incorporate neuropsychology and neuroscience into therapy and use insights about brain function and cognition to tailor interventions.
This approach emphasises understanding how brain structures, neural circuits, and neuroplasticity influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
By applying knowledge of how stress, trauma, and mental health conditions affect the brain, I help my clients build strategies that align with their brain’s natural tendencies for adaptation and healing.Techniques like mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and behavioural changes are integrated with psychoeducation on brain function to enhance self-regulation, emotional resilience, and recovery. This science-based approach deepens therapy’s effectiveness by addressing both cognitive and emotional patterns.

Psychotherapy

I work with a range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression, personality disorders, stress and trauma.I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, in a joint effort towards the desired change. This can be either for an agreed period of time or for longer periods if required.
